I’m seeing my pdoc Tuesday morning then reporting to the hospital for a med change under supervision. I don’t know what med they’ll try, but i gotta do something about this depression. I bought a firearm last week and that’s a HUGE red flag warning sign that I’m not doing good. Luckily, i haven’t been able to find ammunition for it. Tomorrow I’m taking my doggy to a dear friends house so he can watch her while I’m getting my “tune up”. I wish they had ECT here because i would get it if i could. I tried that dTMS back in March and it initially helped the depression a little but after i finished treatments it didn’t stick. I don’t know what i think they’ll be able to do for me in the hospital but hopefully we’ll be able to try Effexor or Cymbalta. I was originally hoping to go on a tricyclic antidepressant cuz i hear they’re more effective for treatment refractory depression but it’s doubtful they’ll put me on those cuz they’re also more lethal in overdose. Last time i was in the hospital for a month but i hope I’m not in there that long this time. Wish me luck!
Good luck. And I’d ditch the weapon, can’t stand being around firearms, let alone possess one.
Could you safely phone someone to safely take your firearm away. Maybe like the cops?
Sorry I don’t know what’s legal where you live
Best wishes @WhiteRaven
I’m sorry you have to go to the hospital! I’m doing a med change too right now to clozapine.
I hope the Effexor or cymbalta can help you. I took Effexor and it worked well. I’m on the sister drug now.
Im sorry @WhiteRaven . Seriously consider getting rid of that firearm. As much as I dont like having my rights taken away, the truth is, if I wouldve owned a firearm at the height of psychosis, there is a good chance I’d be dead right now.
I know you are talking depression and not psychosis, but tomato tomaato on that one. Both dangerous conditions to mix with guns.
@WhiteRaven good youve agreed to go to hospital to get med changes and dont do anything permanent your mentally ill so your moods change. Stay safe
please give the firearm to a family member or a friend…have them sell it…it’s illegal here in the states for a sz to buy a firearm…
Only if one has been involuntarily committed to the psych ward, or if a mental health professional has reported that you’re a danger to yourself or others.
With that being said @WhiteRaven, sell the firearm or give it to someone ASAP.
@WhiteRaven, do you feel that you are in a safe enough place to wait until Tuesday? If you need help while you wait please call the crisis hotline or the crisis text number.
Best of luck with everything @WhiteRaven
Good luck. I haven’t been in a hospital for a long time. I never have a good experience .
