My meds make me hungry, and makes me feel tired. Someone else have this problem?
Yup. I’m like 265 lbs. My smoking and energy drink addiction is giving me dry, wrinkled skin. This illness is a bitch.
Do you need to add on an antidepressant maybe? That changed it for me.
Also, exercise.
I’ve always been ugly. I try to do the best with what I’ve got by dressing nice when I bother to get dressed. And I always make a point to dress up if I go out of the house. That makes me feel better about myself. You should try it; it does wonders for self esteem.
As for fat, I used to weigh 250 lbs. I weighed in at 168.9 this morning. I have gained weight since this summer, and I am really struggling not to overeat. I want to get back down to 155 by May. If I keep eating like this, I’ll never make it. I may not be fat anymore, but I am certainly not fit and probably never will be. The best I can do is look good in clothes. Out of them is another story!
Hunger pains are the worst. You just have to find something that makes you feel full.
I have been put on weight recently. I just came back from a trip. It’s hard to control your diet when your are traveling. This winter I got an extra weight of 4 kilos.
I was at 205 in August and it was horrible. I’m decent looking when I’m at 145 (currently 156) so I’m glad I got back into exercising but Im scared I might gain weight again on the new med im soon switching to. It’s latuda tho and I specifically switched to it bc of the weight gain not usually being an issue. Maybe u should switch?
at this point i think the weight gain is just me and not the antipsychotics. its in my genes, there are a lot of big people on both my mom and dads side of the family.
big people can be attractive too, it just matters which lens youre looking at them through
I’m in the same boat with my meds. Sleepy and eat is all I do now. I want to be well but I can’t stand these meds. And for other reasons too.
im fat and ugly too… i gained 40 kg and i have acne from risperidone. the only excercise i do is yoga. cant run.
Many here have this problem, there are also some meds like Abilify that should be less sedating and weight neutral.
