In English, I’m full means I ate a good meal. If you translate that into French, it means “I’m pregnant.” My sister found that out in a very embarrassing way.

One time I told my French home-stay family. “Je suis finit,” after I finished my meal. They all started laughing…apparently “j’ai finit” means “I finished my meal…” “je suis finit” is like “I’m finished…I’m done…don’t come back for me…” lol
