Sometimes I want to cry but I can’t. Before I would cry so much. I hated it because my eyes would get so swollen.

it sounds like you are very sick @JustTrish how do you think you stomach would respond to something like ginger or ginger root tea?

I actually tried that, early on. I guess it may have worked if I drank tea on a regular basis. What a brilliant idea, though. Thank you very much!

oh really? thank you so much your so kind. Just make sure that its real ginger because dried prepared teas are significantly less potent than the actual herb root itself. And yea, your stomach might benefit from this taken throughout the day

Do you think, maybe, if I cooked with ginger, or drank flat real ginger ale, it would work?

Thanks so much! You’re so helpful!

Dr Don Colbert writes books about your issues (digestive). He’s a Christian. Idk what your beliefs are though. I’ve read that the build up of yeast in your body can cause terrible digestive problems. It’s called candida I think.

i think cooking with ginger would work. i dont think gingerale would work because i assume it isnt fresh, real, or strong enough. Sipping ginger tea (maybe with honey?) consistantly might be a bit better than it being mixed in with a meal but it might still help in a dish.

canada dry gingerale for example even though it says " Made from Real Ginger" contains almost no actual ginger

There are some other things that might help but im not sure about: pomegranate juice, rosehips, hibiscus tea, fresh berries etc.

but traditionally people use gingerale so although the others may be good invigorating antioxidants im assuming ginger is one of the best things for it. Modern gingerale is not gingerale though, its essentially ginger flavoured pop though it might contain some natural flavour.

Hope youre feeling better… God bless

Hey there, @Loke !
Thank you for helping me! Unfortunately, my gi doc ran tests to try to figure out the cause, and she didn’t get a CLEAR answer. She is talking about possibly sending me to a gastroparesis specialist, though. She wants me to try the nutritionist s take for a bit, first, though. I am just getting over a vaginal yeast infection, though. This is the first time I’ve ever had one.

I feel honored that not only you replied, but also because you sent me a link. I can’t say thank you, enough! Thaaaaannnnnnkkkkk you!

Wow! I’m impressed. I feel cared for. I’m crying tears of thankfulness.

:hugs:

A nutritionist will be great bc she can teach you how to have a balanced diet. My grandma always says “moderation in all things”. I think a healthy balance is good for the body as a whole. Also, I would look into Don Colbert’s books.

Wow! So helpful! I don’t usually use ginger to cook with. I’ll add that to the list of things to.discuss with the nutritionist. I’ll also do a quick search on cooking with fresh ginger.

Thanks so much! This helps more than you know! :hugs:

I hope you are feeling better JustTrish. I think people like you and me have the benefit of some sort of inexplicable levity. I think it’s a strength. I know I stay in a good mood despite all the crap that is wrong with me. Some people get trapped in a loop of feeling sorry for themselves, and we all have a good reason to do that, as schizophrenics, but it will eat up all your time if you focus on it.

Hope your stomach feels better.

You’re right as rain. I’m getting wrapped up in it, temporarily. Things will settle down directly. Thanks for the thoughts and encouragement.
