I'm a Metabolic Mess!

I got my blood test results back and my triglycerides are at 300!
My blood glucose levels were high even on Metformin and my FSH level and TSH thyroid hormone was higher which probably means I have Hypothyroidism.
What does it all mean?
Well it means that Risperidone is taking its toll on me.
I might have to switch meds now and have no choice.
I see my family doctor this week and will know more.
I forgot to mention that my prolactin levels increased as well.

I have to go for blood tests. :weary:

What med do you think you’d change to?

Sorry things are not okay with you. I hope your family doctor can help you with some good advice.

I am overweight and suffer high blood pressure, diabetes 2 and high cholesterol. I got metabolic syndrome from Olanzapine.

I swear, I am seriously thinking about going back on Abilify.
My physical health was excellent on Abilify and I managed to lose a lot of weight.

Abilify doesn’t touch prolactin.

Thanks @Fellowman

I’m sorry I don’t know is that high or low or just right? I’m sorry you may have a looming meds change. There’s nothing like switching meds for a nice go 'round with destabilization.

awwww  so sorry @wave Hope you see your doc soon.
I will do a blood test on Friday morning!

Keep us posted.
Why did you switch from Abilify?

If you don’t mind what is it the TSH Level? Did you know in UK it needs to reach above 5 before hypo is diagnosed and in US it’s 3. Confusing

It made me too revved up and anxious.
That’s the only problem.
I might be switched to Saphris or Rexulti - who knows.
But my psychiatrist really wants to keep me on Risperidone.
She may change her mind after seeing my test results.

TSH is a thyroid hormone.
Don’t know if I actually have Hypothyroidism but it is elevated.

I may have to change meds.
Don’t know yet.
Last time I switched meds to a new med (Vraylar)
I ended up in the Hospital.
I have to be real careful.

What dose of abilify were you on previously?

It varied.
I’ve been at different doses but the highest I’ve gone was 27mg but only stayed at that dose for one day, it was way too stimulating for me.

My usual dose was 20mg.
I also remained on 15mg for a long time also.

I take both of them and I don’t think I’m too psycho. The only thing I really notice is I feel it if I take my saphris late, My family will start saying “did you take your meds” sure enough I missed that saphris. Now rexulti got me to stop obsessing about suicide (for the most part) and later they added saphris and it got me to stop going in and out of reality pretty much and hearing/seeing disturbing stuff (for the most part) But I think they are both good meds with low side effects.
