I think therapy work requires confidence. Cos its such a people type of job

I would ask you to start by trying to think of a group of people or subject you do not feel at all threatened by.

I dont mean threatened in a violent way. I mean a group or subject where you might think they or it would not make you feel nervous. or beneath them. or intimidated.

Was you wanting to be a group counselor? That is a type of teacher. Have you thought about taking classes on public speaking?

Or is public speaking, to even a small group, the real problem?

Public speaking is a type of performance. We can alway improve our performamce by watching others perform.

example:We never see a public speaker with his head down mumbling words.

They want people to look at them and undrstand their words. They take turns looking at different people in the group while speaking. This keeps them engaged in listening.

They wear a pleasant look on their faces. They use their hands to speak along with their voice.

It is a kind of art.

Another idea:
maybe if group counseling is too much you could be / do an art therapy class? It would be lower key and a bit less engaging. less intense.

Does any of this sound do-able? or did I miss the point?

I worked in a group home for adults with developmental disabilities and absolutely loved it. You could easily do something like that. Maybe even at a group home for kids or adults with mental health issues.
