Old AA saying.
They use it to say that if you’re an alcoholic in recovery, but you’re still going to bars frequently and hanging out with people who drink, there’s a good chance that being in those places and being with those people will wear down your resistance and there’s a good chance that you will pick up a drink.

Good one. I never heard that before.
I’ve been limiting my time with my friends, not cutting ties completely because otherwise I would be too isolated, but considerably smaller amount of time in the barber shop.

That’s good. By getting sober you are mainly helping yourself. You are doing it for you first, and you are doing it for those around you second.
