If you had to pick one

One album that defined the peak of music for you what would it be?

For me it’s hands down song lines by the Derek trucks band. I wouldn’t say it’s a perfect album because there’s one song that acts as a filler but it also has some of the best music I’ve ever heard.

The Visitors by ABBA, 1981. They were the band I grew up with and loved and listened to non-stop. I couldn’t understand why they would quit when they were the best thing in my life at the time. Not much in my life was right, but everything was better with ABBA cranked.

Without overthinking it, and off the top of my head it might be Joy Division’s second and last album, “Closer.”

It’s some of the most haunting music I’ve ever heard in my life, yet it’s kind of beautiful in how Ian Curtis wrote his lyrics. The music is like a bridge from post punk to dark new wave.

Fallen by Evanescence…… modern rock is my favorite type of music. When you listen to this album with the volume way up really loud it sounds awesome and glorifying. I don’t always listen to it with the volume loud though. This album also won album of the year.

Evanescence won best “rock” album of the year…. Not the best album of the year. It was 2004.

Tool’s “Lateralus,” came out around 2001, if I remember correctly. Such a great album.

“Feels” by Animal Collective. It reminds me of college and walking around the city in the dusk. The world felt so big!

The album attack of the wolf king by the band haste the day.
And mozart’s requiem.
Those two are my favorite music ever.

I cannot decide. I basically loved all music from 1964 up to around 2000.

This one gets no skips from me:

Not sure if it’s my all-time fave ever, but every song on there is great IMO.

Ya know Mobb Deep kinda flew under my radar under a lot of my hip-hop years but I feel like I really need to give them a chance. I know the underground rapper Saigon apparently talked a lot of smack on them but I think that’s like typical drama in the rap world.
