I spoke to my community nurse and he said he thinks I lack capacity over big decisions with finances but can manage day to day spending like food and stuff. I seen a psychologist who did a test last week. I think I failed it. I’m going to be peed if I failed it and they keep control over my money. They also say I lack insight over the SZA. I want to but a Omega Seamaster.
My parents manage my money. Its better for both of us.
its good that they will control your money so that you cant blow it on expensive watches
Why the fascination with this watch? It’s less useful than an $25 smart watch from China. Certainly not worth upwards of $7,500K.
They cost thousands. For a watch ?!
Wealthy people use them to signal status and tribal affiliation.
It pees me off that I’m not allowed that I can’t spend my own money as social services say I lack capacity over my money. They say it’s not in my best interest to get one
I lack capacity to buy one
If you think that’s bad, get married. The only way I get say back over my money is if my wife dies before I do.
My friend just went to pawn a piece of jewelry because she was cash poor. In the pawnshop, she saw a used Coach Pocket Book on sale for about the same as her piece of jewelry would net her. So she came home with the Coach Pocket Book instead of the cash.
While in a more impulsive state of mind I once bought a massively expensive Tag heuer watch. I bought it, but hardly ever wore it. Several years later I sold it for a fraction of what it cost me.
It’s more principal then anything.
I once felt taken advantage of by a repair shop. I went to a lawyer and said, “It’s the princple of the thing.” He laughed good naturedly and said, “Court is not a good place to satisfy principles.”
I have an Omega watch. Bought it when I was living in Geneva and had to cross those watch stores every day. That’s 11 years ago and I still wear the watch every day. I hope to keep it for life. But then yet again I wouldn’t buy one if I were on disability.
I have an Omega Speedmaster and I haven’t worn it in over a year. Not even sure if the battery still works.
I got a good deal on it though overseas while I was in the military. It’s engraved on the back.
I wouldn’t pay retail for one. Get a Casio.
He’s not wrong. Tort law is a strange thing to be sure.
I just went and checked my Omega. It’s still keeping perfect time on the dial. The digital time is off. I couldn’t get it reset right the last time I put a battery in it. And the second hand doesn’t move anymore. I don’t know if it’s broke or not.
Glad I didn’t pay retail for it.
Bought my watch off of Amazon four years ago for $6800.
The watch cost twenty bucks but shipping & handling was
$6780.
Well, I don’t think they should go by a test, but whether you’ve had financial problems because of inability to manage money.
They tried to manage my money couple of years ago - but i was having none of it. Nothing court ordered or anything like that, but the last time i listened to them to pay less on the credit card - and tell them i couldnt afford it (when i could) - my credit rating went down the shitter.
Never again. Its always stated on my clinic letters that i have mental capacity - so if i wanna get into a bit of debt, thats my damn right.
