When I was adding contacts to my son’s phone I noticed this. It’s the first contact and you can add who to contact in case of an emergency and you can also add medical information. Apparently it is accessible even when the phone is locked. I thought it was cool.

I saw this today too. I’m not sure if it’s new or that I just had not noticed it before. I did recently update my phone.

It came with ios8 on iPhone.
You can also write down what meds and diagnoses you have on iPhone.
