I wish "Life" would make up it's mind

Are you going to screw me or are you going to leave me alone?

Haha yeah. Every day I am beat up by the illness and life. Mostly for me the monsters start coming out at night, they bother me less during the day. But schizophrenia is manageable for me. You’re allowed to live ok, there are just some setbacks.

Did you really? My meds give me side effects that only occur at night after I take them. I get nausea and just of general feeling of fear and anxiety. I try to do lots at night like walk, meditate, listen to music, journal, but every time it gets dark I automatically start getting panicky.

I am curious how you do maditation. Did you do it with music on or guiding word on or without them? I do both, but not everyday.

I use a phone app called calm. They have guided meditations. You need a subscription to access most of them but there is a discount on groupon right now for $30 per year. They are free for some of their meditations so try check it out? Each guided meditation is about 10-15 minutes long.

I know what you were talking about. But I think light meditations such as less than 30 minutes meditations are pretty safe for SZ people. Only intense meditations are dangerous. China is like India , which has a long history of practicing meditation. There are many books about how the people have practiced meditation and what kind of risks they would have, including generating hallucinations, and how to cope with them. Basically, those risks only happen to intense meditations such as doing it for more than 1 hours and keep practising for more than one year.

“Life” treated me badly every day for a long time, and now I feel like “life” is treating me more gently. I am referring to all sorts of things that can go wrong and make me worry.
I don’t know why.

Fortunes in life can turn on a dime. I told my worldly step-dad once: Your whole life can change for the worse if you blink at the wrong time. He knew exactly what I was talking about and he agreed.

Yeah night is like that for me too. I always hope to fall asleep fast.

Ginger brown sugar water seems to help calm me down and take away the nausea a little.

I had that same thing happen with meditation. My promoral phase seemed to start with not being able to fall asleep.

So I did a meditation like others are speaking of here, but kind of modified to help drop off to sleep.

It worked at first, but it was during that time I had my first hallucination.

After it set in, the hallucinations made it impossible. I would say brought them.

The only thing that helped was low playing music/television.
