I Was Told This- Is It True?

When I was spending time in a Psych Ward shortly before Christmas I was told that was a time of year it was usually empty or almost empty. Is that true? If so can we not assume that many of our ward visits are situational or psychological rather than real emergencies?

No I think it’s cause a lot of the patients are allowed to go on ‘leaves’ for a few days then come back to the hospital after. That’s what happened to some people when I was there. That being said family dramas bring some people in at that time of year

My first visit to the ward was at christmas (years ago) and it was completely empty. Not sure why.

What you said is somewhat true though I mean situational problems can cause breakdowns…people get in fights and end up threatening others or themselves with knives and end up admitted to the hospital. Maybe that decreases around Christmas??

I was at the hospital on new years eve. Im never gonna be at the hospital on new years eve again. So misurable. Lights out at 10pm.
