I want to go eat sushi but

I want to go eat sushi at a sushi restaurant but if I go I go alone and I feel paranoid and extremely nervous and suspicious of other people watching me or noticing me.

I can’t summon the courage to go!

When that happens, my CBT therapist tells me to repeat constantly in my head something rational yet not black in white, like “They could be looking at me, but they probably aren’t, they could be thinking about tons of other things… They might be as afraid as I am even…”

@dbranch That CBT thing doesn’t work for me

@far_cry0 I have no one to take with

@Erratica It happens to me a lot too. Specially with novelty food shops, that require me looking at the options for a pretty long time like I was frozen in time, standing there like I have some kind of palsy - no offense to anyone. Trying to look casual…

I gotta sum the courage. Those temakis are good.

Try to go by yourself and u can sit in a private area or booth or if it is sunny outsides wear your sunglasses or go early when it is not so busy.

Maybe ring them up and see if they deliver. Sometimes just getting the vibe of the people who work at places like that does help me in that area. So the phone call might help also.

Sushi sucks…I wouldn’t go with a gang of friends.

I predict you would be able to make it someday soon…

Sushi rolls are too good to pass up chances are the rolls them self’s are going to help you extinguish the flames of paranoia and let you enjoy you’re self.
not going to lie my fish are pretty fond of me.

Thank you all!

I’ve went to the sushi house and I was nervous but ended up completing the task. Almost ate more than I could chew.

Again, thanks for the support!

Have had a similar feeling myself, I found making eye contact when politely inclining my head with respect and openness helps.
