I think szs have a natural ability to adapt. You just need to unlock it, and meds can help in that process

Having a moment of clarity…

Though I’m going through withrawal from abilify and am unstable at times. I’m generally stabler off meds…

I don’t think I need university right now, I need a stress free life in which I can recover mentally and achieve small goals at my own pace.

My parents are sympathetic enough that I don’t think they’ll force me to get a part time job or volunteer again, things I hated doing in the past. Though they may encourage it. Or I may find I’m inclined to do those things voluntarily. I don’t function well under pressure.

It’s been only a bit more than two years since my psychotic break.

Even if I never recover, I have still managed to feel better coming off meds, and that is a blessing. I seem to be thinking more like I used to before all this nonsense.

I need to stop coming to the forum seeking support.

Even real friends may not hold each other up in times of weakness. I, personally, find solitary living to be key to my recovery at this point. It is therapeutic for me.

I now believe it’s my own responsibility to support my mental health the best way I can, rather than leaning on others.

I believe we all have a natural ability to adapt to adversity. We just need to find ways to access it.

Talking with people who are dealing with their own issues and expecting sympathy or a solution has never helped me.

While I think coming off meds (w/my pdoc’s permission) has helped me gain some clarity, I’m sure many of us have more clarity ON meds. Medications help people and keep them safe. Unless your doctor says so, do not even consider tampering with your regimen!

What worked for me might not work for you…

Thanks for reading!

I’m not going to study for my test, I know I will fail and have cone to peace with that…

Illness is illness, you don’t make demands of someone who has real barriers stopping them…

Thanks for sharing your clarity. Very fine words.
