I think my psychiatrist lied to me

She told me that because i have tardive dyskinesia (which she didn’t verify) that all antipsychotics will cause me side effects and will keep me at this dose.
Isn’t the precedure to switch antipsychotic?
Because being lowered to 150mg of seroquel is pretty useless. I was just as psychotic when i started.

Yes that sounds unreasonable. At one point in time, I was suspected of having tardive dyskinesia or some kind of spasm on my face. I was taking Latuda 80mg and was lowered to 40mg temporarily. I now also take Ziprasidone in addition to Latuda. I think trying another anti-psychotic is totally normal.

When Abilify gave me TD they immediatelty stopped it and started a completely different ap.

Yeah, when I was on Thorazine and it started causing TD my psychiatrist immediately took me off it and started me on a different medicine.

And then the problems eventually went away. Kind of quickly.

That seems very strange. I would ask for her to explain her logic to you. I would give her the benefit of the doubt and be cordial, but definitely press for information on why she came to that conclusion.

My dose was lowered very quickly or the medicine was changed whenever I started showing signs of TD, so anecdotally this scenario is weird. Im not a doctor though, so definitely ask for more info. There may very well be more to her clinical decision, and she may have given a simplified explanation.
