I have nothing against this on its face but what is this in reference to?

I appreciate and admire the spirit of those words. I often think about this though: does one tolerate the intolerant?

Yes, just because someone is intolerant doesn’t mean i let that affect my character. This reminds me of a Stoic quote from Marcus Aurelius, “The best revenge is not to be like that”.

I’m not anti-religions nor politically inclined, but the culture surrounding the muslim refugees wouldn’t agree with all that. That’s the main issue here.
Would a openly gay/bi/trans person be openly accepted by a group of Syrian refugees? Probably not.
I’ve researched their religion and their culture. It’s far from what we call Liberal.
Ask any muslim male refugee from Syria/Iran/etc if they believe in womens rights or LGBTQ rights.
They will laugh at you.
By all means, I really would like to help those in need but they should also accept our culture of tolerance and acceptance too.

Generalization and stereotyping. They aren’t all the same. And, I’m tired of that argument " are they being tolerant to others" - pointing on Saudi Arabia or Iran etc. Well, do you want to be like them?
I stand for you when your right to be is in harm. That’s the ethical premise and needs no side notes.

I’m qualifying that. I stand with most. If you belong to a freaky religion that calls for the death of people in other religions, you kill gays, and you take away the rights of women, I most definitely do NOT stand with you.
Other than that, yeah.

hey this reminds me of a thought I was having when I saw some internet flyer for the “transcript of Donald Trump’s statements during black history month.”
He was standing next to a black woman like his goofy self… and I thought. Hah… I can see it. Really Trump was elected to represent one of the most disdained groups within the human species. THE IDIOTS.
You know. We gotta look out for everyone. Let the idiots get their representation in government. Idiots are people too.

I have a better idea. That is " we have to try for minimum death in all respect, with an effort of minimum death of ours first."
This makes a slab like first animal than other countries than neighbour country than my country than my state than my town than me, and after me I unable to know what happening to my family.
