But its hard you know
When I accepted it things got easier for me.
Your illness accepts you whether or not you accept it, but things go better if you do your part.
It is really hard to accept, i completely understand. I have issues accepting it too. I have periods of being stable and im like “see, theres no way i have it”. And then i have a delusion or paranoia of something (right now its showers) and i know im schizophrenic just like my dad was. Its hard.
Aware
Acknowledge
Accept
It’s the way to process and integrate information. Then you can look forward to the next thing.
I struggle to accept it and up to a point still don’t. But I do acknowledge becoming ill. so I always take my meds.
I accept but mental illnesses but it took me a long time to accept.
It is hard. And it takes time. Be patient with yourself. You are strong. You can get through it. The more you learn about yourself and how to adapt, the easier it becomes.
I don’t accept my disorder fully as I’m on the fence between two disorders really.
Bipolar and Schizoaffective
It’s like @anon55031185 says. You need to work on adapting to your situation. Learn about yourself and your illness. How to handle it as best you can, finding coping strategies. That is the ticket, and hopefully your situation betters down the road.
Tbh it doesnt matter what you call it, you can still accept your symptoms/disorder without knowing an exact label.
Yeah that’s true @Moon
But it’s not easy for me
Yeah i totally understand. Its just something ive addressed in therapy, im getting to a point where im not as concerned about the exact label.
