Well, prison life isn’t much, but neither is being dominated. So, I sit here on my sz butt and accept SS and say I deserve to be retired.
Sucks being under governmental control. But, as you say, prison life is worse(the ultimate gov’t control) and starvation isn’t all that great either. The lesser of evils.
Historically, before SS, and the ruination of the family, family took care of the sick and/or infirm.
Isn’t modern western civilization wonderful?
