I saw the orthopedic dr about my previously broken ankle

I’m still in pain a year later. She did X-rays and an exam and thinks during the fall I tore my tendon.

She did note a year ago I had soft tissue damage as well as the breaks in the bone.

She wants me to get an MRI of my ankle and see an orthopedic surgeon (she’s actually a PA).

My husband is furious they may have missed something important that after a year may not be fixable.

I’m not angry. I’m just hopeful they can help me in some way

I waited a year to complain because she told me it would take up to a year to heal so I’ve just been waiting for it to heal. It just never did.

Ouch! That sucks.

I broke my collarbone as a teenager. Worst pain ever.

Getting an MRI is hard, because insurance likes to deny claims for them whenever possible. It really does suck, but in my experience you would have been unlikely to get that MRI much sooner than now. Insurance would keep demanding more PT or at home exercises first.

Oh ok. Well, I’m going to schedule it far enough out that they can get it approved by my insurance first. I did 2 whole rounds of pt so I should be able to get it approved now like you said.

I hope the pain subsides at some point.
