I was able to do all the exercises and the massage machine felt good and the manager of the place seemed to like me. No one was rude or overtly unfriendly but there were 5 other clients and 5 other physical therapists and I did my exercises and thought everything was going fine but when I stepped out of the workout room into an adjacent room everybody in the workout room laughed really meanly. I felt they were thinking about me. I’m friendly in real life but I can come across as standoffish and aloof to people I first meet. It really hurt my feelings that everybody was laughing at me, like I was nothing. I don’t even want to go back. I don’t know what I did wrong.
Probably nothing but look surprised. It’s just something that happened but people forget shite pretty easily and quickly so keep being the friendly, happy guy and things will seem different.
If your looking for why all the time you’ll never get peace. Just live and learn and do what you can to make decent connections. Stewing on why or what just leads to a viscious cycle where your never going to win.
Get out there and show them you are a likeable guy. So what someone laughs at you. Laugh with them and then when you get the chance be witty back…your a smart man so use that intellect and I know it’s tough but let go and give up the paranoia.
OK, thanks for the good answer. I go back Tuesday.
Yes. Do it. You fail you stand back up again and move forward. Be friendly when you get the chance and use your wit. It’s not easy sometimes but you’ve got to start somewhere.
Your a good egg @77nick77 . Life is way more fun with other people and sz will make you isolate.
You will live and learn and it’s something you’ll learn and gain from!
I don’t understand?
Why would they laugh?
Could be some paranoia on your part @77nick77
I agree with @Wave … Maybe someone told a joke?
I got my feelings hurt at the gym. Nobody could believe I actually went to college. After I had worked out for years, one said. “Yeah, you’ve come along way. You were a real mess.” An underhanded complement.
