Start from my childhood/birth I’ve been a low brainer (I mean I am low on brain activity/ability ).
8 mg risperidone every night
10 mg haloperidol every night
2 mg trihexyphenidyl hydrocloride every morning
flupentixol decanoate 20mg/ml 1 ampoule of 1ml injection every month
no positive symptoms
disturbing negative symptoms
What do you suggest I do to get back?
I used to be happy. I became angry and broke lots of stuff and I was admitted into hospital where they stuffed me with medication and I lost memories and I am currently being treated with above mentioned medication. Chlorpromazine 100 mg was removed 10 or so days ago from the list. In the month of may 2019 I used Velgut a probiotic, I took two capsules and within minutes my negative train of thought+anger became zero, yes zero. I consumed 18 more capsules in that day+next day. Ever since I never got negative train of thoughts+zero anger.
I am beginning to think that small doses of antipsychotics can be used to manage schizophrenia.
From the beginning of my antipsychotic usage journey I used high doses only because of anger issue. Now, my anger became zero. I am not joking. I am not being foolish. This is the truth so far. I am low on brain activity since childhood.
My Father is an eye specialist and my mother is a home maker. My mother also has low brain activity, I look like my mother and my brain also functions like my mother’s brain. Both of us have low brain activity.
My Mother watches television or uses tablet without problems.
I used to watch television and use internet and used to feel awesomeness, it used to be like heaven, yes, heaven, not being foolish. It used be filled with happiness, it being experience.
If you know me in this forum you will know that I am low on brain power. I can’t even read the forum properly. It’s like having a handicapped brain. I am born with a handicapped brain apart from schizophrenia.
Hi @anon93437440, good evening. I think you can adjust your antipsychotics drug as required, to improve your functioning. After so many years of suffering now i understand that pdoc always prescribed more than require. Therefore I took only that strength of tablets which requires for good functioning as well as my job. I can understand after using one week of that tablet what strengths (mg) is best for me.
My advice, listen to your pdoc. Ask them questions you have about your meds, if they are any good they’ll be able to answer those questions.
It takes longer than a week to know if an antipsychotic is effective or not. That’s why I dont like people coming to internet forums for advice on medications and proper dosing.
Used incorrectly antipsychotics can be dangerous, as can any medicine. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and please dont take advice about altering your dose from untrained people on the internet.
I’m sorry you’ve suffered from schizophrenia for over 25 years, but that does not make you an expert in medicine and saying it’s okay to lower your dose because pdocs usually prescribe more than what you need is HORRIBLE advice.
Ok yes. Most of us agree with you. But SZ means poor, unhealthy, hungry, dependent, unsatisfied, dirty and such LIFE. If we medicated then also dull and unproductive LIFE. Therefore nothing wrong in what i am saying. Most rich countries like US and in Europe give SZ people to disability benefits, but here we do not.
Yes, I regularly eat gluten and milk foods, last night/ almost 11 hours ago I ate bread and milk products.
I have the book Food: WTF/what the heck should I eat and Grain Brain why you should avoid gluten books but I could not read them completely and as far as I read them they both mention that milk/casein and gluten are bad. But, we Indians eat them regularly.
yes it depends on the person but for some people it can be really bad. For me i switched to soymilk instead of milk and my mood is significantly better. Also when i eat wheat i feel bad.
@Squanchy I reduced risperidone from 8 mg to 4 mg last night and I read all the replies few moments ago ( I read aku’s reply few moments ago ) and I slept like a baby and I am feeling less uncomfortable. It is clear risperidone is causing me lots of trouble. But, I will tell the pdoc about it. Thanks.
day before yesterday I cut 4 mg and last night I didn’t take any antipsychotics and today I am normal. I have no positive symptoms no restlessness. Feel normal.
Work with your pdoc. Let him or her know what is going on with you. Your pdoc will probably want to wait and see how the med’s are affecting you, so you’ll have to be patient.
I’m still not using medication. I told my Father and my Father said I must use medication. I told him that I am not having any positive symptoms but, if I use medication I’m having lots of negative symptoms, he said some chemical secretion happens and I must use medication. He said he will consult doctor to recommend long term high dose injections and for the time being I must use medication. I guess tonight I will restart medication.
