I need someone to talk to face to face

It just seems like the weekends are the worst and i’m not even eating enough. Thanks again for all the support, but I think I really need to touch base with my case manager at the recovery centre tomorrow. I’d be willing to take anything for grief counselling if I could get it. The feeling is just so intense and I need to get a grip on myself. Don’t worry too badly, I can make it til then.

I think seeing your case manager is a good idea. Do you have a peer support specialist?

I used to have support workers that I would see every so often, but the mental health clinic is trying to move away from that. I feel so silly for not going to the support group that the hospice on the west side of the city offers. If I went this Wednesday, it would be three weeks into it, so it would be too late for the efficacy of it.

That’s too bad. It can be really helpful to go to a support group and to have a peer. When does the support group start up again?

A new session starts in the fall, but I’d rather have a few sessions with someone one on one.

Well, then try to set up seeing a counselor. That can be really helpful too.

I went to a grief support group after my dad died, and I did one on one counseling. The benefits of he support group aren’t just learning coping skills. You can make friends with others who are dealing with the same thing as you. You should see if you can still join late.

I went to the same group 9 years ago after my Dad died, @Ninjastar, so I’m very familiar with them. I just don’t think it would be very kosher if I did join late.

Okay, sorry. Well I hope you can get 1:1 counseling.
