The best therapist I ever had was an old man who had retired and who was only taking a few patients. He charged $25.00 an hour. He once told me that if all my dreams came true, and I became a great writer, it would feel just like getting hugged by my father.
I think that’s a wonderful idea, I enjoy having someone to talk to.
Mine is and older hippy lady, always has body glitter and tinsel in her hair, lots of life experience, been in the field over 40 years, and has a background working with schizophrenia.
I think that would be a smart idea @Wave. It is going to keep being hard during your mom’s illness and you would do well with extra support. Don’t forget about the resources from the hospice as well. I don’t know if Bereavement Coordinators work with you before the passing, but they are a good resource.
