I won’t go into a lot of detail but I made two complaints today against my MH team / Pdoc. I put one of the complaints off for a couple of years because I was worried I would be demonised for it. But when the other issue happened I just thought “how can I not mention this issue if I’m going to make a complaint anyway”
I don’t really know what to expect from this. I’ve made complaints before about poor quality products, and bus drivers with poor communication / rudeness. But complaining about a bus driver is quite different from complaining about my psychiatrist not doing his job.
The issues in brief summary:
- My Pdoc said I wasn’t eligible for supported housing, and told me he couldn’t help me even though I used to be eligible a few years ago and my condition hasn’t changed. Then fast forward about a year later, I found someone outside my mental health team to help me find supporting housing and now I have it and am living in it (!!)
- They wouldn’t give me medical information/documents that I needed to apply for PIP (disability payments). I asked, and asked, and I had someone on my behalf write multiple times and he just did nothing and ignored our messages. I didn’t get PIP and so I’ve been quite stuck for cash for the last few years.
Anyone else have experience with making formal complaints against their MH team?
Do you think my issues are worth complaining about it?
