Some of my tuna patty mixture that dropped to the floor. He didn’t eat a ton or anything, just a little bit. But it had raw egg, spinach, garlic and herb bread crumbs, tuna and a little onion! So toxic for dogs! I’m going to watch him all night. The vet said he might be ok and to watch for issues.
he’ll be fine I bet since it was just a little…sounds pretty o k except for the raw egg…I bet he will be ok though…don’t worry.
@jukebox , the mercury in tuna is toxic, and so are onions and garlic. So it’s very bad for him. I really hope he’s ok
im sure hell be okay. i know theyre toxic but dogs are pretty tough i think. it was only a bit right?
Yeah @POET . It was only a little
I’m not worried about the tuna but I am a little concerned about the onion and garlic, but especially the onion.
First of all it depends on the weight of your dog and the amount of onions contained in the tuna.
If your dog is a medium to larger dog, 25 to 50 pounds or over and there were small amounts of onions then I think they will be ok.
Like the Vet said, keep an eye on him and take it from there
He’s 12 pounds, and may have eaten up to a tsp of diced onion.
Can you take him to the Vet?
@Wave i called the vet. They said to watch for upset stomach and lethargy so thstxx sz what I’m doing.
Oh ok… it sounds scary but he should be fine
It’s actually the egg I wouldn’t worry about. How is your pupper doing now? Can you pls keep us updated?
My little dog is fine No vomiting, no diarrhea, and no lethargy which is what I was told to look for. Yay!
I’m sure he will be fine!
Edit: just saw ur update
Glad to hear the good news. Good luck to you and the pup
I would not recommend this to anybody but they say chocolate is toxic but my uncles dog use to count for Hershey’s chocolate kisses. If he held up one piece he’d bark once and so on but he’d only give him one piece he’s ok.
Just trying to make you feel a little better
@Turtle you can buy a chocolate substitute, carob, which is safe for dogs (or so I heard 18 years ago or so).
Yes @Happy_H , carob is a great substitute for chocolate for dogs
My dog ate a hornet last night. She is ok but it worried me greatly.
Oh man @Qwerty ! That would have scared me too!
I found dogs are resilient to a lot of things after growing up with a few. He will be fine
