I’m very stressed about moving this week

I have so much to do. I am feeling somewhat off. Not myself. Any advice ? Thanks.

Just do what you need to do and get organised early. Just do one thing at a time and maybe make a list of what needs doing and tick it off as you go. I hate moving. I have done it a million times it seems in my life and it never gets any easier…

Thanks. Going shopping today for kitchen stuff and will set it all up at the new house …Thursday all my furniture is being moved from storage to the house. I can get a bit overwhelmed by it. Once I’m in and everything is sorted I will feel much better I’m sure.

I’ve moved a few times and your right it doesn’t get easier.

@rogueone is right. Don’t leave things until the last minute! Plan ahead, get organized, make a list of what needs to be done if that helps. Moving is one of life’s big stressors for most people, it ain’t easy and you don’t want to have moving day come and you still don’t have enough boxes or you haven’t cancelled the TV service yet, or had the power turned on in your new place, or you haven’t got the key to the new place yet or you haven’t got the TV service in the new place or you are in your new place the first night and there’s no light bulbs or toilet paper or food. Get organized and plan ahead.

And if someone’s helping you with the move make it clear exactly what time you need them and where you need them and what you need them for. Reserve the moving truck as far ahead as you can and leave time to pick it up and get enough gas in it.

And when you’re doing everything just plan that you will take time out for lunch or just to sit and rest occasionally.

I don’t want to give you even more stress but most of this stuff is common when someone is moving.


Don’t be afraid to sit down and take a break every once in a while. Get all the help you can.
