I like to play toss

like with a ball. either throwing the football around or getting a couple baseball gloves and tossing a baseball. i have nobody to play toss with though anymore, because dad has a bad shoulder, and he can’t throw. maybe if i go visit my brother in arizona this winter, i will bring a football along with me. he used to be a hs football quarterback. he started varsity one year, but then was beat out his senior year, by this guy who was all state in football, basketball, and baseball, a couple years younger than him. that guy ended up being a 1st round draft pick in the major league baseball draft, my brother went on to play wide receiver and special teams for army in college. my brother had a good arm, but was short, only 5’10"

I find it difficult to catch balls as my depth perception is all scrrwy due to my crossed eyes.

Love watching baseball though.

I used to play catch with wall cause dad wasn’t around at the time. I’ve never had a proper game of catch with him. It’s never to late I suppose. I think I’m gonna ask him to play catch sometime.

i couldn’t throw a ball for a year of my life though. i seperated my shoulder in a football game one time on a frozen field. and couldnt throw overhand for awhile. it’s much better now, after some rehab and rest time, took about 15 years for it not to give me any pain when throwing a ball around. i used to be able to throw a hs football about 55 yards, the high school balls are smaller and i can throw those, the bigger college and pro balls my hands are too small to grip.

and i threw one hs touchdown pass in a game, a halfback pass to beat our rival, to this kid who was always dropping balls, but miracously caught that one haha.

i do have a baseball glove i bought years ago, but i still havent broke it in, and it’s hard to catch with. in baseball i always liked the old gloves, that were so easy to squeeze. i’ve heard you can put different stuff on them to help break them in, and to sleep on them under your pillow, it takes awhile to break one in.

when i worked on the golf course. it was a real relaxed work environment. a few younger guys and some older retired guys who just worked there for the free golf. one time i bet my boss i could throw this football over a fence that was about 45 yards away, he didn’t think i could do it. he said if i cleared the fence, we could punch out for the day. sure enough i reared back and let one fly and it cleared the fence by a good 5 yards. then he let me and my buddy george go home early.

i used to throw a football like a baseball. almost like byron leftwhich, i didn’t have proper mechanics to throw a football with a short delivery, but since im a small guy, i had to use a different technique to get more distance.

this song always reminds me of my old boss. this song just hit the airwaves when i worked there, and my boss was always listening to it. like i said it was a real relaxed work environment. one time we had to stay late to plant sod around the 13th green where we couldn’t get grass to grow. and my boss bought a case of beer and we all had one or two after work. and we would all play golf together once a week or more.

but he got fired. now they run a tighter ship. i could probably get my old job back if i wanted.
