I lean towards despair when in my house, and hope outside

Does anyone else have this?

I’ve always called my daughters ‘street angels’ and ‘house devils’.

They are very shy and reserved when they walk out the front door…but maniacs in the confines of their home.

But I guess you just have more time to ruminate at home which might be causing the despair. A lot more distractions outside to make you forget about your situation.

I’m the same.

When I go out to chat with the neighbours or walk to town or drink coffee in town with a friend or go to a forest, my mind lifts. When I’m at home, especially alone, I tend to ruminate and despair easier. I need to get out a lot.
