Do you have a job you like? Do you really like it?
I’m not currently employed (looking, though) but I enjoyed talking calls pertaining to debit/credit card fraud at a call center job I had years ago. I almost felt like a detective helping people deal with potential fraud on their account, lol.
I loved my job managing houses for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. But it is a lot of stress and the burnout rate is very high. I could never do that job now.
I would like to have my cognitive abilities back as before (concentration, focus, memory…), than, my plan is to finish my college (I’m on the last year on the faculty of Economics) and learn programming so I can become data scientist - I think that’s the job I would like to work. Until than, I’m in search for some effective medicine.
I love my job. But I had to leave one that I had enjoyed due to bullying. Thankfully the one I’m in now is much better.
My job as a janitor is definitely not my first choice as a career but I’m happy and satisfied with it right now for several reasons.
One reason is it is one of my rare jobs that gives me paid vacation days and I will be taking a paid week off pretty soon, as soon as the boss approves my request.
If I compare my current job to say, my job at Sears in the mid-nineties where I was only getting paid $6.00 an hour to unload 52’ trucks trailers at Sears, the comparison is stark. It was hard work, very physically demanding.
Another part of the job was pulling stock in the basement , bringing it upstairs and loading in to customers cars. You had to work fast and it could get pretty hectic. My co-workers were a bunch of young people in their teens or twenties who weren’t particularly bad people but all of them ran their mouths and got out of doing their work by sloughing it off onto someone else. I was on the receiving end of some insulting teasing but I was one of the best workers there so I got positive compliments on my work from many people and some of the salesmen liked me and were friendly towards me so it kind of evened out.
Now, as a janitor, I leisurely vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust mop floors, clean rest rooms and do miscellaneous work. I’m getting $15.00 an hour and I get along with most people, and even the co-workers who are not thrilled with me don’t really bother me too much.
I also get to work alone which is one of the best things about the job.
And the office workers in the building are soldiers and most of them are friendly and respectful and I get to talk to the women and that’s always fun.
Yeah, it has many advantages over most of my other jobs and I’m satisfied with it.
I work for myself for 25 years now, I like my work but sadly it is no longer paying the bills, due to covid and the downfall of everything else here. scary not knowing what the future holds
I used to love my job. I was a Marine flying helicopters and airplanes.
Have a job now. Great full but don’t like it.
I have a housekeeping job. I’m not passionate about it but I like that it keeps me busy, and provides me with some income. The owners/staff are really nice too and I get to work alone. So it suits me for now.
