Yeah, positioning your body in that form has gotta hurt.

It is hurting a lot right now but I seriously hope there won’t be pain tomorrow morning.

This teacher’s class is not working for me. This is the second time I injure myself in her class.

We did 40 rounds of sun salutation

That’s shouder stand. That’s the name of the pose. I do that pose in my sequences too. Luckily, I’ve never hurt my back doing it. Yoga everyday has healed my bad back.

Sorry! I know the pain of chronic back issues.

Gotta be careful with yoga. If your form is wrong, you can actually hurt yourself stretching because you’ll be stretching a muscle incorrectly. Definitely avoid positions you don’t feel comfortable doing.

Does she do individual classes? Maybe you need something more catered to you?

It is not individual classes, it is a class but I think this may be too demanding. I don’t usually feel anything when practicing, my back started hurting a day after the class. It seems I am putting too much pressure on my back.

I don’t see the practical applications of doing that pose except to stretch your neck but even then, it’s dangerous because your spinal cord is right there.

What are you trying to accomplish with this class?

I am strengthening my core muscles and stretching my muscles.

The teacher actually stands up upside down on her head with her feet up which is the ultimate goal. She said it will cure us from mental illness  But it is yoga. I guess the 40 rounds of sun salutation really hurt me a lot.

I used to stand on my head as a kid because my uncle made me. I wonder why I still have mental illness

In any case, joking aside I don’t have anything against stretching your muscles, however if you aren’t tightening them on a regular basis, that can cause tears in your muscle and may be why your back keeps getting injured. I stretch my muscles all the time but I avoided injury to my back when I started doing strengthening for it. I actually dodged a huge bullet in injury to my rotator cuff because that is a very common injury.
