I haven’t paid my taxes in several years, how do I get back in the groove of having to do so, I wanna pay all the years I missed due to not being well
Freetaxusa is where I filed by back taxes it’s free they just charge a small amount to file state taxes
Usually, in the US, you can work out a payment plan. Are they garnishing your wages yet? Do you have property?
I only make 13000 a year so I probably don’t owe very much but I was under the impression you didn’t have to pay taxes on disability
Idk about the states but in Canada I don’t think you have to file your taxes if it’s less than a certain amount. Like 15,000 or 30000 or something
I have not filed taxes since SSDI and have not gotten any notice from the IRS
when I was working and did not file. my inability to manage my taxes while working made me have to pay more taxes than if I did my taxes (which would have actually gotten me returns).
not doing taxes got me letters and the IRS filing and calculating the tax for me to the benefit of the IRS making me owe instead of getting returns.
I ended up owing $60,000 from not doing taxes and took me 10 years to pay off.
Whoa that’s a lot
I didn’t do taxes for 10 years, before I got treatment.
yeah if the IRS does the taxes for you, its bad, plus penalties and late fees. it was a nightmare but a blur and took forever to payoff, through garnishment of my wages
not sure if u are in the US, but I don’t think you need to worry if your income is benefits.
Get on that ASAP. I recommend getting a PoA to avoid things like this.
Is that $13,000 from a job? If you’re making just $13,000 a year from a job you are due a refund for all those years. You don’t owe anything if you’re making only $13,000. If that $13,000 is from SSDI, it should not be taxed; I’ve never been taxed on my SSDI.
SSDI recipients don’t pay federal taxes, but you do have to file. What state are you in?
The state of florida
