I have severe catastrophic thinking about the new person moving in

I live in supported housing in a shared house with 2 other people. We have a spare room free and the care company started introducing a new person to us in December 2017 and we are still waiting for him to move in 9 months later. He’s in psychiatric hospital and has been for 4 years, he’s on a section (involuntary hospitalisation) but he doesn’t take any medication. This concerns me because in England they don’t section you for no reason and especially if you don’t need medication (this cancels out most psychiatric conditions if he take no meds) This makes me think its a criminal section. He committed a crime and has been sectioned to a prison sentence but because he has a learning disability and is vulnerable they have diverted him from the criminal justice system and put him in a psychiatric hospital to do his time (this happens regularly in LD service) But what I have been catastrophizing and been highly anxious about is that to get a 4 years in prison in England you have to commit a very serious offence.

I fear the worst and think sexual offence? I will absolutely not tolerate living with a sex offender. As this company is only interested in profits and all the services users and staff are commodities used for profits I feel if they get a person who has a high care package (more money for the company) they will tread over the rights of the other services users and accommodate them. We have been told nothing about this person, not even is second name. He seems okay when we’ve met him but I think we have the right to know his crimes. This is not a forensic home that deals with criminals.

Do you think I have the right to be worried or am overt-thinking things?

You get four years in the U.S. for jaywalking.

you get less then 4 years in England for grievous bodily harm which is very serious.

I befriended a guy on the ward who had spent 18 years in jail for attempted murder of a cop. He was a really sound guy.

But I know what you mean. So folk who have spent time behind bars are just bad news.

Try not to get too apprehensive
