Does anyone know if a professional is required to remove bed bugs
@Nomad, Yes, professional exterminators are absolutely required to get rid of bed bugs. And you must follow the extermination company’s instructions to the letter also.
In the Spring of 2019, my partner had a bad case of bedbugs in her house. We went with a professional extermination company from the beginning. It was a lot of work but we got rid of the bedbugs completely.
By contrast, my partner’s sister, who lives in another state, also has bedbugs. But she refuses to spend money on an exterminator choosing instead to spend tens of thousands of dollars on tooth implants for herself. In the meantime, it’s been a year and a half and she’s overwhelmed by bedbugs now.
And now, my partner and I suspect her sister is losing her mind because of the bedbugs. I’ve offered to pay for her extermination and her sister refuses saying she has the money. Meanwhile, all her home remedies prove worthless.
OMG yes !!! They are extremely tough to get rid of. Call a professional. Good luck !!!
I managed to get rid of mine myself. A friend bought them in, it took about 3 months tho with weekly sprays. You can get 5 litres of the stuff for about 25 quid off amazon. You have to be patient and persistant before you finally get of them, Good Luck!
My friend brought bedbugs into my bedroom when she slept over at my place. I spent 3 months itching my way through life. Yes, a professional is absolutely needed to get rid of bedbugs. Bedbugs can reproduce extremely fast and by the end of the three months I had extensive bites on my skin. Never again.
Yes, you need an exterminator. The apartment building I live in has a constant problem with bedbugs. I’ve been treated twice now. They haven’t gotten them all on the first treatment and had to repeat.
This is why I no longer sit in the lounge area or let neighbors in my apartment.
I hate how bed bugs operate… they precisely wait for the moment you fall asleep, crawl from underneath, suck your blood and go back to their hiding spot full of blood…
Most of them are poison resistant these days so need a heat treatment to eradicate them. It is the only surefired and certain way to exterminate them all.
They seal up the house and then heat the whole place up to a high temperature. Expensive, but works 100%.
You need to report it to your landlord, who should pay for the exterminator. Odds are, you got them from someone else in your building.
My downstairs neighbor claimed she had bed bugs. Therefore, I seriously looked into them.
It turns out she’s an alarmist, and none of us have bed bugs.
We got bed bugs once,
While my husband was traveling a lot for work.
I figure he picked them up at some hotel.
They have to be treated by an exterminator.
I tried to get rid of them myself with the various sprays, traps and powders.
Did next to nothing.
Yes an exterminator is required 95% of the time.
idk do some research online first.
usually a professional is required but some have had good results with products like crossfire, cimexa, and temprid fx. anything you buy from a regular store will not work. foggers just make them spread to more places. what i did is put interceptors on the legs of the bed and spread cimexa everywhere. i kind of overdid it with the cimexa but i wanted to be sure. havent seen one since or seen any trace. cimexa is not an insecticide but it is silica gel in a small form and with a static charge so that when the bug walks near it is sticks to them and dehydrates and dries them out to death. i couldnt afford a professional so i did alot of research to find products that actually work
I got bedbugs once. It was awful. Very hard to get rid of. I ended up moving to a new apartment and throwing out my mattress.
They said the lease says it’s my responsibility
We’re calling around getting prices
That seems weird. Did you examine your copy of the lease?
My aunt had bed bugs once. It costed $3500 to get rid of them. They give you a certificate that says if the bed bugs come back in a certain amount of time they’ll kill the bugs again. Esssspensive.
