I was checking out the estimated COLA for 2015. It says it will most likely be 1.5 %. The official figure should be out at the end of October.
But out of curiosity I looked up the numbers for every year since the COLA was implemented in 1975.
The COLA was 14% around 1980. Another year it was 8.0%. I don’t understand how with the outrageous increases in prices for food and gas these recent years that the COLA could be so low. Oh well…

Yeah my mom was just sayin’ the other day that she can’t belieeeeeve how high grocery prices have risen. She said she doesn’t know how families make it these days.
It’s called budget cutting. Hopefully, they will be able to spread out the sacrifice equitably. The well off are in the best position to sustain a hit.
