I hate it when I can't understand something

I just say “That’s about as clear as mud.” I shouldn’t let it bother me. I’m getting better about poetry than I used to be. My mind is a little more flexible now.

I hate poetry. I had to read it in college. Never liked it. I mean it has all these hidden meanings and references that you have to decipher; hell, just say what you mean!

If you see a tree you like, just say you like it. Don’t write a four page poem waxing long about how it’s the same color as your lovers eyes and it makes your heart melt or some bulls*it. Say, “I like that tree”, end of story. That’s all that needs to be said.
