I have been struggling with insomnia due to withdrawing from Xanax for several months. My sleep is slowly coming back and when I do sleep it is broken sleep as I wake up a lot to have to use the restroom. I think this may play a role in my dreams too. Last night was the second time I have realized I was dreaming while i was dreaming. In both dreams, I dreamed that my adult children were young and realized in the dream that they are adults now.
In the first dream, a few months ago, my daughter was about 8 years old and was hugging a woman. I realized, in my dream that she was 22 and, suddenly, in the dream my son walked past me at his full age of 25. It was very weird. Last nightâs dream was even more weird though. I dreamed that my daughter was about 2.5 years old. Very young. In my dream, I said out loud âMy daughter is 22. I am dreaming. This isnât real. I hope I am not in a coma.â and I became scared and tried to wake myself up. In a few seconds I was awake. Not a good thing when youâre dealing with insomnia. It was really weird and kind of scary. I donât mind realizing I am dreaming but being afraid that I was in a coma was no good.
Do ppl in a coma dream? Not afaik
They show no brain activity.
If people in a coma had no brain activity, they would be dead, not in a coma. Once the brain stops, you are declared dead. Thatâs why they check the brain activity of people in a coma to see how much chance they have of âwaking upâ.
Iâm not sure if people in a coma dram or not but they are definitely in some kind of sleep.
Yea I meant minimal brain activity. I misread the article. It said this remaining brain activity is from the brain stem which controls the heart, breathing, etc
I gotcha. yeah, thatâs why it is hard for families to decide whether or not to âpull the plugâ and let their loved one die. People can be in various stages of coma, but some (rare) cases show people waking up after 20 or 30 years in a coma. Itâs crazy.
