I had a hard time holding a conversation

I was on a video call with my therapist this afternoon and she asked me if I was feeling ok?

She said that I was acting very mellow and was not acting like my usual self.

She wanted to know if I was depressed.

I really had a hard time focusing on the conversation.
I felt really out of it.

And now I feel so drained and lethargic.

Maybe it is depression or maybe it’s part of the Depakote withdrawal process?

Either way I feel like a sloth and have hardly any energy to type this post on my phone.

From what dose to what dose of depakote have you gone down to sofar?

Hopefully if to do with depakote, it is because your body is not yet used to the changes and that adjustment will hopefully still happen

I was on 1000mg of Depakote
I went down to 250mg
Tonight I’ll have no Depakote in my system.
It took me a couple of months to taper off the Depakote.

Maybe you are right @anon83141956
It’s going to take some time for me to adjust.

Yea give it time, your body might adjust to no Depakote.

Yes, thanks @Aziz
Tonight is the first day without Depakote and I am feeling strange.

I’m zoning out a lot.

yea i think you gotta give it some more time. Maybe it will change for the better. If you keep feeling different i would talk to your pdoc about it again.

Thanks @lekkerhondje :slightly_smiling_face:

I wonder if it might help to keep a journal of how you’re doing from day-to-day. That way you can see larger trends over time and bring them to your doctor with concerns or questions.

Sorry you’re feeling so sloth-like. :sloth:

I have been feeling particularly low too @Wave I have heard before that this time of the year can really drag some people down into a depression.

Just have to try and treat ourselves, and see if distractions can make us feel better

One thing I will say is that when I have been coming down on meds, I usually blame everything I feel on the withdrawal process.

It can be so hard to distinguish all these different things going on. Just stay strong.
