I gotta vent some more

Can a person have anxiety flare ups?

I was doing fine, about going places…

Now I’m feeling anxious about it, like borderline paranoid… but it’s about actual real life things that could happen.

I’m feeling super anxious about taking my daughter trick r treating now…

It’s gonna be me, my daughter, my friend and her daughter…

I just feel so unsafe doing that.

Idk… I don’t want my daughter to miss out because of me.

You’ve probably taken your daughter out before and what happened? Probably nothing. It’s generally safe to go trick or treating, they’ll be other parents out with their kids who aren’t looking for trouble. I highly doubt any violence is going to occur to the parents or the kids trick or treating. The worst thing that will happen is she’ll knock on doors of grumpy people like me who don’t answer their door. No one is going to attack two adult women with all the other people around.

I probably have absolutely no business answering this thread as I’m not a parent and don’t have children. But I think having sz on top of being a parent can probably add maybe a little bit of a layer over protected-ness.

Like if I had kids and I brought them to a park to play one day and the “spies” or “men in black” started driving around us I know I would probably totally freak out.

But then again I think what you’re feeling is very natural as a young parent. Nobody wants their children to miss out, or be hurt in any way.

Just try to focus on talking to your friend and watching the kids have fun. Keep yourself mentally occupied as much as possible.

You could even come up with a list of things to talk about with your friend when the conversation goes quiet. That’s what I do.
