I got a suspicious bill for $188

I got a suspicious bill today for medical services I supposedly received at a minor emergency clinic on Jan. 29, 2019. The fact that this bill would surface after all these years seems kind of irregular to me. I checked the yellow pages in the phone book for a clinic named Siloam Springs Care Express. If the bill is legit I will pay it, but I want to be sure it is legit first. Can anyone offer me advice on this?

They make it as difficult as possible to discover the source of a bill. Once it’s been sent out for collection, I doubt you’ll be able to determine the nature of the bill or the nature of the cause for it without contacting the collecting agency. And I doubt they’ll help you other than demand that you pay. Sorry I wish I could give you better advice.

Though my father has told me that if you don’t pay a medical bill there’s not much they can do.

I don’t think it is possible that they could damage my credit rating any more than it has been damaged already. I wasn’t planning on buying a home anyway. I don’t think they’ll let me drive because I have been declared “incapacitated”. I will have to think about this one long and hard.

Yeah, I don’t think you should worry about it too much.

I would ignore it. Im guessing its a phishing exercise by someone. Seems suspect that they have left it that long.

You can always reverse lookup the number - and see if anyone else has reported it as a scam.

Yes! Thank you! The fact that they brought this up four and a half years after the treatment does seem suspicious to me.

So you’re not seeing that lady friend anymore? I can’t remember what her name was but she was staying over every once in a while

That’s horrible. You can’t date a thief!

Although I once stole $100 from my ex-girlfriend she had it hidden. Can’t remember what my reasoning was.

Shes has a crack cocaine habit. For years i was bailing her out, with food and electric and money, even with the mental health team warning me off.

The woman must of had about a grand out of me. I bought her a cooker - and she flogged it. The quest 2 went the same way - when i bought her one for xmas.

Ive forgiven her way way to many times - and in the end, i was just coming across as a mug.

I’ve had this happen. I told them I was not in contract with the collection agency and owed them no money. When they persisted, I asked them for the name of the dr.

I then looked up that dr and called them directly to see if I owed money. If I had owed it, I would have paid it.

But I didn’t owe them anything. I wrote a letter to the collection agency saying I did not owe that money, I did not receive that service and that I was nit in contract with the collection agency and therefore owed them no money.

Never heard from them again
