It’s amazing what social security will deny, though. I have an autistic relative, and I have no idea what they would be able to do for a job. They are lucky to have a parent that will care for them forever, if possible. I hope they are able to get SSD when the time comes. The SSA is a pain in the ***.
I’m sorry you’re having a rough time. I hope you are able to be in a place where you feel safe very soon.
I’m so sorry; that would cause me to panic for sure, so wanting to scream is absolutely warranted. Hang in there, Grookey. You are awesome, and you can get through this.
Anyway you can get on Starbucks disability? My spouse has a friend who is bipolar and is on work disability getting partial pay temporarily but it’s been months, and he is still not ready to go back.
My court hearing said I was fit to work. A while later I was selected for jury duty. There was a number to call if you need accommodations. I called, and they told me I would be medically exempt from jury duty. So they basically said “you are fit to work, just not for us.”
I’ve heard of a lot of people get denied disability I’ve even seen it in my family idk how I got it based on what I’ve seen but I’m thankful and hope someday to be off it
I’ve had one lawyer since 2018, I applied in 2017, and now that my case is going federal (we’re suing the SSA) , now I have an additional lawyer that does just federal cases, and right now the goal is to get the federal court to say the SSA was wrong and to have it redone.
Yeah. I was selected for jury duty. There was a form that asked if there was a condition they should know about that would not stop me from serving jury duty?
The whole questionnaire was saying you’re not getting out of jury duty, basically. I said I have schizophrenia. When it came time to call in to see if I was to serve jury duty, the message said my jury duty is already served. I believe I was excused because I have schizophrenia.
Now I’m on a soap box. You have genuine disabilities that are well documented. Fighting for help can severely affect your mental health the longer the time you’re fighting for. That means they’re making you even sicker! They should not be allowed to drag cases on for this long. It’s inhumane and abusive. Grrr!!!
I’m agree. I’m not sure if you’ve seen my other posts about it… basically applied in 2017, approved partially in 2021, but lawyer said we should contest the partial part because I’ll get more benefits , so we did and the same judge ended up saying nope you’re not disabled at all. I’m still receiving payments but my new lawyerthinks that will stop soon. So I’m constantly on edge waiting for that letter from social security . The federal court process takes a year. Then I’ll have to go BACK into social security and have them look at it again. Maybe more hearings. Who knows. I am exhausted.
