Nothing wrong with asking for help. I felt embarrassed when I reached out to apply for a caseworker, but so far it is the best thing I have done for my situation. When the time comes to work, and I go off disability I will be hitting up the rehab department to get me a job in my field I can handle. Last semester I thought I was going to fail a class so I signed up for tutoring and I got an A. Asking for help is the smart thing to do when you need it and there is nothing wrong with it.

Asking for help is a sign of strength.
It shows that you know your limitations and your problems, and that you’re willing to do something about them.

I understand the feeling, though. I often worry others will think I’m weak, but it’s really a sign of strength rather than weakness.

What else might be stopping you is the fear of being turned away when you do ask for help. That happened to me and I didn’t think to try a second opinion. Now, I know, that different doctors will see different things about us. So, if one doesn’t work, try another.

My family left me psychotic for 2 years. Now I take care of all my health problems while they yell at me about cost. It sucks but do what you gotta do.
