I did my taxes online- no refund / no owe

So I’m not gonna file cause of the cost.

I recommend FREETAXUSA.com if you need to do taxes. $14.99 if you file. I didnt.

HR Block website charges 4 fees. About $200.

Thanks @77nick77
If it’s free. Ill file. Just so the I’m in the system.
When I was ill before diagnosis - I didn’t file for about 10years.

Instead of getting refund, the IRS filed on my behalf and made me owe multiple thousands on top of what my job took out.

After getting diagnosis and treatment I started getting help and filed and got returns.

The IRS ripped me off. It took me 10+ years to pay off that debt. They garnished my wages.

I’ve been using it for about 7 years. It’s good if your financial situation is not too complicated.

The IRS has a free filing program for simple returns. My state return was also free on there, but some states charge

Used it for the first time this year with no problems. Got both my federal and state refunds within 3 weeks.

I’ll use that again.

The internet makes it so much easier now.

I had to get a tax person to do it for me before.

I get so nervous and anxious during tax season.

Just glad I punched in the #s and said I owe nothing

I do my taxes for free in an online investment bank that i have 1000bucks

I file our own taxes but I use a filing program as our taxes are complicated being self employed. I’m very skilled at it as I’ve been filing for 15 years and been audited twice and we’re always fine. I love doing them weirdly.

Wow in all my years I never been audited.
Did they have a person come to your house?

It’s because own a business and are self employed. The government is paranoid. I’ve had to be contacted, fax and email paperwork and meet in person. Mostly they just communicate by letter requesting everything they want.

Oh ok.
It looks scary on how the TV depicts an audit.
Like they are looking for fraud.
Sending a human out.

Yeah it’s not scary. They will ask for additional paperwork to review but usually it’s fine.

Not sure if you are on disability.
But once you are on, you get access to the SSA website.
It’s scary. They have all the record earnings I made since I was a teenager.

That’s intrusive of them. I’ve never been on disability as I’ve always worked full time up until I got a family. My hubby works a professional job plus teaches all year online courses for Johns Hopkins University and AP national grading every year. We both work part time publishng school materials so we have steady income to give the children everything they need and more.

Well, it’s for yourself too. Seeing all your earnings by year is really handy and it’s good if you’re ever curious for any reason. I like being able to see how much I made in 1978, the year I started working. And I can look at the years and figure out which job I was working at the time and what was going on in my life the year I made that money.

Wow that is very cool @sweetpotatocasserole

@77nick77 i was shocked they had records so far back. I didn’t think anyone had data during the days before y2k.

I imagine the police records must be the same way.
