When I was in the 8th grade, I lost a cheerleading contest by one vote - to my neighbor and friend. The next day, I tried to see if the people who had been absent could vote then and vote for me so I’d win. Of course, the teacher said “Nothin’ doing.” But what a jerk I was to not accept the loss and learn from it. I could have done better. I set my self up to fail. I wasn’t ready to win, obviously.
Oops, that was the 7th grade.
Competition is always cruel.
Well done on nearly getting a cheerleader position chordy! Even if it was in 7th grade.

I wish we had a monarchy.
I got smarter and won the next year.
Aaaah! You left that bit out.
Actually, I’m still a jerk because it was not that I got smarter, it was because in the 8th grade, 4 could win and in the 7th grade, only 2 could win. I forget in favor of myself all the time. Disgusting.
