So I tried going on a different forum (which shall remain nameless) and let’s just say I was met with hostility and elitism. Here, with very few exceptions, I’ve had an overwhelmingly positive experience, even when revealing things about myself that are unpleasant. Insofar as I am capable of it, I’m grateful to have this place as a resource. So thanks, everyone, for making this place a welcoming and safe space!

Other forums don’t have the friendly, bright sunny interface we have here. And in my experience some of them are a lot smarter/well planned out than us. As in here its laid back fun, many questions in the lounge section. Elsewhere people are super serious and stuff. Of course I’ve only tried like 2 other forums, the rest I saw popped up when I was searching disease related questions.
Discourse has great potential. And SzAdmin set up the right categories for us, including Unusual belief and Lounge.
