I’m sorry if I’m now allowed to post this… But my uncle is a big believer in this sort of stuff. I’m not. He basically once got conned out of £40000 by someone I can’t mention. He went to the police and you know what he said ? He filed a complaint "I was hypnotized into giving him money ". Anyway he believes in hypnosis and he said I need to see one to cure my anxiety. Bs

I’ve once seen a French documentary on hypnosis. Some people are susceptible to it and some are not.
There are also some conman out there.

My dad tried hypnosis to quit smoking, didn’t work.

I, being very susceptible to such things, believe hypnosis exists.
I do not believe random strangers on the streets can suddenly hypnotize you to rob you, if you do not cooperate. I also do not believe everyone can be hypnotized.
I personally would never seek it out on purpose anymore.

When I was in a psych ward at 16, the staff told me some people can actually be hypnotized. But not everyone. I’m surprised therapists told a teen that. They were considering hypnosis treatment for me, but I refused.

I know someone who got a degree in hypnosis. I dont trust him because of it.

My partner says it doesn’t work if you don’t believe in it, I don’t believe in it. i just can’t work out how that can be real…

I was hypnotised I think but schizophrenic people are not meant to get hypnotised I heard it can make them worse.
He asked if my mother is single and had a crush on her.
His chair was comfortable.
He was talking in such low sound vibrations I couldn’t hear what he said on this level of consciousness.
Scary stuff.
He could have said anything.
He gave me recordings on cd to listen to at home every day.
I wondered if I trusted him at one point.
I lost the cd i think.
This was many years ago.
My voices I had at time did eventually go away.
Don’t know if the hypnosis helped but it took a couple years?

A lot of hypnotists are con artists, I don’t trust them.
I highly doubt that your anxiety can be cured through hypnosis.
It’s an unrealistic idea

The placebo effect can be powerful, so it’s not entirely impossible if you believe in it.

Hypnosis is for real, but it’s difficult to compel people to do things they don’t want to do. It only works on people who are suggestible, which probably explains why it doesn’t work on me (stubborn!). I’ve tried several times and I wind up just sitting there and giving the hypnotherapist Ye Olde Lizard Stare even when I have been given drugs that are supposed to help.

It’s a great tool for helping people with compulsive behaviour, and I do have some of that if we’re being honest. Anything that helps that isn’t a med is something I want in my toolkit. I really wish this had worked for me - I did give it an honest effort and not just once.

I acknowledge the fact that hypnosis is real but there are a lot of hypnotists that don’t have enough training in the field.
My last PhD therapist was accustomed to hypnosis but she was the real deal.

I can’t be hypnotized. Have tried. I also have tried those subliminal recordings to try to overcome bad habits and weight loss. Didn’t work. Far too stubborn, I guess.

I am skeptical about how much hypnosis can help with chronic mental health issues.
A hypnotherapist used to write a weekly column. He said someone else can’t hypnotize you against your will. He claimed it helps with things like phobia or chronic pain.
Hypnosis is real. During summer camp there was a hypnosis show. Artist asked for volunteers. One of my friend reached hypnotized state. He was playing imaginary ektar tuntuna. Another one danced like a woman with his head covered with scarf. One guy sang a song of which he didn’t know lyrics of. Everyone laughed when he sang incorrect lyrics. Even this showman said you can’t be hypnotized against your will.
Wish someone would be hypnotized into giving ME money…
