I know psychosis/schizophrenia is often associated with reading difficulties but I wonder how many of us have had the opposite.
I don’t think I was hyperlexic. However my father says I must have started to read before I was 4.That was because sometime before the fall of 1960 (I was born January 1957) I was mentioning Disney Walt . I could only have got that from the index to the set of encyclopedias my father had bought that year.
I was reading at 3.5/4 years old. But I’ve never been one to read a ton. I’ve always had difficulties with concentration.
no clue how early i started reading but i was always very advanced in reading. by i think like, third grade, they had me at college level reading comprehension? i scored nearly perfectly on the reading portion of the act. the wiki article for hyperlexia says its often associated with autism and ive been evaluated as being on the autism spectrum, so idk.
I could read pretty well actually but I couldn’t pronounce anything. Now I can’t read good.
