How to stop intrusive delusions/hallucinations?

by intrusive i mean that the delusion specifically comes from an intrusive thought. for example if i hear the name of a deadly disease i get intrusive thoughts and images of contracting that illness, then fall into a delusion where i think ive actually contracted the illness, then i start hallucinating symptoms of it.

have you been able to find a way to stop this cycle somewhere before it gets to the point of hallucination?

The only thing that worked for me was the right meds.

Before meds I had no control over anything. Hallucinations and delusions would come and go when they would.

If by your post, you are suggestible to that type of thinking; then changing your way of thinking is the only way.

Maybe medication can help.
However, your thought process has to be changed over time.
