How reducing meds has been going for me

I feel much less sedated at night on 200mg quetiapine in comparison to 250mg or 300mg. Sometimes I don’t even have to stop whatever I’m doing after taking meds.

One thing that worries me some is that I noticed some fluctuations in something, maybe my mood. I remember feeling really great for 2 days, then like ■■■■ for another two. Sometimes I’d just be slightly to noticeably dumber for a few days, then I’ll feel better again. It’s been going on like this for maybe a month and a half. Weird thing is if I go out or find something to do I’ll feel better when I’m down, which did not happen whatsoever before. No psychosis, as far as I can tell.

I’m thinking of starting a mood journal. I tried doing it once when I was younger, but gave up because everyday was the same. Really hoping all this is me adjusting to the lower dose of quetiapine. I’d appreciate any insight or advice.

I felt no difference by reducing meds. I felt the same. I only have more energy when i go completely off meds

What are you on now? I’d wait a little while to make sure nothing will change. I’m going down tiny amounts a few months at the time and sometimes I feel something different after 1-2 months on a lower dose.

I was on 3mg risperidone for a few years. Now my negative symptoms are better on 6mg

Negative symptoms seem to improve only when I get psychotic

Sorry to hear. Hopefully you’ll find a sweet spot between no negatives and no positives eventually.
