How often do you cut your hair?

Twice a year… I like it long.

I had long hair since I was a teenager and some friends and I wanted to see who could go the longest before cutting it and I definitely won several years later until I shaved my head on a whim since my ex-wife had ripped out my hair several times where I’m surprised I’m not suffering from male pattern baldness. That said I don’t have the patience to sit through haircuts due to severe anxiety so my hair is getting kinda long again.

That’s what I’m sayin’. I’m a guy though…

I don’t get my hair cut often either. I have curly/wavy hair and it can go to a mom cut really bad ('cause I always get the hairdresser with the mad scientist hair who wants to argue/experiment). I had awful haircuts in the aughts and nineties. It was probably due to straight hair being in style.

I was supposed to get my hair cut today. The last one I had was great. The hairdresser was deaf, and I fortunately brought a pic of what I wanted it to look like. It was of Princess Kate’s pre-fringe hair. It turned out great and I bought some product that works well. I tipped her generously. I was happy to see another person with character doing well in her field. She no longer works there which is why I hesitate now. I really need a trustworthy full time hairdresser!

Geez, I can talk a lot about my hair.

I have my hair cut about twice a year. My youngest step daughter cuts it or she gets her friend who’s a hairdresser to do it.

Thought you said how? I cut mine when it starts getting in my eyes.

That’s the period I hated the most growing my hair out was when it touched my eyes and would sting.

The last time I got a hair cut was, December 1997 Between Christmas and New Year Eve.
Most of time now I wear it in a pony tail. It’s not uncommon to see man my age with a pony tail around here

I unfortunately lived in Salem, IL the first 19 years of my life. Often got comments from people like “why don’t you get a haircut?” to which I’d make some snide remark like “why don’t you get your throat cut?” and then I moved to Montana and no one really cared here because even before I shaved my head some men had hair longer than me even though my hair was below my shoulder blades. It really says something about how ignorant Salem is as a town though when I didn’t know things like Buddhism even existed until I was 15 and had internet and that was about the time I made a promise to myself to move as far away from that place as I could some day. I actually coincidentally started practicing things like Buddhism teaches before I even knew about it that I thought up on my own because I thought it would make me better as a person and everyone there called me a crackpot for it. I guess the millions of people who follow Buddhism and practice ideas along the lines of what I did are also crackpots even though they seem to be free of suffering.

I wish I could cut it more often. Last time was Feb 2014 in a pixie cut. Its now on my shoulders. I wish I could cut it short again but my husband likes it long. So I wear it in a ponytail and side parting. Funny fact is I like long hair on men but not on women, I like short haircuts for women. Pity I cant cut mine short! Sigh! Its such a nuisance!

I don’t like it when the wind blows + my hair is in my eyes + I can’t see. It’s a price you pay for long hair.

Old hippies. Or old rednecks sometimes now.

Update: I got my hair trimmed today. She kept it the same length just added layers. I’ll get it cut by my friend’s hairdresser in the spring.

It was annoying when my hair was long enough to get shut in a car door. lol

When I was a kid in the early seventies I had long hair, just about longer than any other kid in school. People used to call me hippie, and not in a friendly way. The older kids used to always tell me to get a haircut.

@pob I have been called a old hippie before. I not sure if it’s because of my long hair, or the peace sign I made and put up on my barn.

What’s the peace sign made of?
