How nicotine patches help my boredom/anhedonia

First I tried the nicotine lozenges for 2 weeks to help me quit smoking, only to find out they help with lack of pleasure and boredom (for me anyway).

My sister had a few nicotine lozenges left and gave me one, and after 17 minutes I felt much better. So I decided to buy a pack myself. After 2 weeks the lozenges made me feel a bit off because they add mint flavour to the lozenges, and having mint 24/7 was making me a bit sick. So I thought, well I’m screwed.

But…

Then I decided to try the nicotine patches, and yes, they do the job better than the lozenges, without all the added mint flavour and crap.

I’ve quit down on smoking much more on the patches over the lozenges…I don’t really like the lozenges anymore, but I’ll have many left in the cupboard that 1 every now and then should be fine.

So I’m a fan of nicotine patches. They’re cheap and affective for me.

I’ve only had 7 roll up tobacco cigarettes today, and I’m wearing my trusty nicotine patch

Congratulations on finding something useful ! I hope you can quit cigs entirely.

I went from cigs to vaping to lozenges to quitting.
